Diablo Wind Symphony Features Bass Trombonist David Ridge

The Diablo Wind Symphony will present its final concert of the season on Sunday, May 15, 7:30pm, at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. The concert features the principal bass trombonist of the San Francisco Opera, David Ridge. He will be performing Gordon Jacob's Cameos and Tommy Pederson's Blue Topaz Concerto.

The DWS will also perform Hounds of Spring (Alfred Reed), Polly Oliver (Thomas Root), Bayou Breakdown (Brant Karrick), Sevens (Samuel Hazo), The Royal Welch Fusiliers March (John Philip Sousa), and a special performance of John Williams' 1977 original Star Wars Medley.

David Ridge

David Ridge is principal bass trombonist in the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, performs with the San Francisco Symphony, and frequently records at Skywalker Ranch.

The 50-member DWS is made up of outstanding high school and college musicians in the area who present several concerts a season that feature prominent guest soloists.

Admission is $10 for general and $6 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the door or by calling the LRCA ticket office at 925-943-7469.
