The Diablo Wind Symphony will present its final concert of the season on Sunday, May 13, 7:30 pm, at the Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. The concert features tuba soloist Tony Clements performing Edward Gregson’s Tuba Concerto. Mr. Clements is principal tuba in the San Jose Symphony (Symphony Silicon Valley), Director of Bands at Ohlone College, and involved in many recording studio groups.
The DWS’ concert will also include Colas Breugnon Overture (Kablelvsky), Little English Girl March (Delle Cese), First Suite for Band (Reed), Lassus Trombone featuring the entire trombone section (Fillmore), Ye Banks and Braes ‘O Bonnie Doon (Grainger), The Jig’s Up (Kallman), and Colossus of Columbia (Alexander).
The 45-member DWS is made up of the most talented high school and college musicians in the area who present four concerts a season and include prominent guest artists.
Admission is $10 for general and $6 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the door or by calling the RCA ticket office at 925-943-7469.
