Diablo Wind Symphony Concert Features Renown Saxophonist

The Diablo Wind Symphony will present its final concert of the season on Sunday, June 1st, 8:00 pm, in the Hofmann Theater of the Lesher Center for the Arts.

The featured soloist is saxophonist Harvey Pittel, acknowledged as America’s foremost classical saxophonist.Mr. Pittel will perform Albinoni’s “St. Mark Sonata” on soprano sax, Carnival of Venice on alto sax, and  Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumble Bee, and a special arrangement of Over The Rainbow.

The Wind Symphony’s program will include Hultgren’s  Eminence, Gershwin’s  American in Paris, Bernstein’s  Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, and Nelhybel’s Festivo, and Osser’s Beguine for Band.

Tickets are $10 general and $6 for students and senior citizens and may be obtained at the door or by advanced reservations by calling the RCA ticket office at 925-943-7469.
