2007 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of The Blue Devils and the 40th for the Santa Clara Vanguard. The competitive history between these two corps is legendary, spanning decades of trading victories and pushing each other to greatness. Together these two corps have brought 17 DCI World Championship titles home to Northern California!
In celebration of five decades of excellence in Northern California Drum Corps, The Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard are joining forces for an unprecedented combined performance.
Both competitive corps and their alumni will perform at the Drum Corps West Championship to be held at Stanford University on August 4th! Each organization has scheduled an exciting year of events culminating in the long-time dream of every West Coast drum corps fan: The Drum Corps International World Championships at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA!
DCI West includes performances by 10 of DCI’s best drum corps in their final meeting before heading to the DCI World Championships in Pasadena. What better opportunity to celebrate the achievements of these perennial powerhouses than the first DCI West Championship in the magnificent Stanford University stadium!
After the competition, spectacular performances of the Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard with their combined alumni ensembles will commence. This performance will include each corps’ performance of a “signature” chart followed by a combined corps medley that is sure to test the seismic strength of the newly renovated stadium!
If you are an alumni from any performing group sponsored by either organization, including Cadets, B and C corps as well as winter guards and twirling corps, you are invited to participate! Combined and individual corps rehearsals will take place in Northern and Southern California locations, and will provide alumni of both corps with the unique opportunity to play each other’s music. All the information you need will be posted on your respective corps web site. Make your plans now to join your fellow alumni in celebration of the legacy of excellence that you helped build!

The Blue Devils Alumni Ensemble will also be performing at Precision West on June 16th, and the Spring Concert at the Concord Pavilion on Sunday Mary 6th, so mark your calendars! Additional performances are being planned.
Your participation fee of $75 includes a ticket to the Grand Celebration Party on August 3rd, the Saturday afternoon Reunion BBQ on August 4th and a Polo Shirt . You will also need to purchase at least one seat for both Precision West and DCI West at Stanford. There may be some additional costs.
