Honoring the Life and Legacy of Tom Float

During his time with the Blue Devils Tom Float helped the corps win 2 world championships and led the drumline to a remarkable “4-peat” of high percussion awards. The Blue Devil’s 1983 through 1986 run of drum titles was the first-ever such feat in the DCI era. But Tom Float’s impact on the Blue Devils and all whom he met is far greater than the trophies won.

On Saturday night, The Blue Devils earned a score of 98.750 to round out an undefeated season and claim their 20th DCI World Championship Gold Medal at Drum Corps International’s 50th Anniversary Finals competition held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Introducing Matt Sieve – Blue Devils C Corps Director

Over the past 65 years, the Odello family has been an integral part of BDPA, and they always will be – but after Rick's retirement earlier this year, we are happy to welcome Matt Sieve as the new Corps Director of Blue Devils C!

Celebrating the Life of Eldon Conklin

In 1989 Eldon found his way to the Blue Devils, and as an experienced truck driver took the wheel of Devils Food and stayed on for the next 18 years. “His main responsibility was driving Devils Food” says longtime corps manager Pete Emmons, “but that was only the beginning. He was not only a superlative driver and cook, but a more than capable mechanic, a confidant and a valued friend.”

BD Performing Arts Introduces New Leadership

After an extensive search, BD Performing Arts is pleased to announce that Jim Verrett will be joining the organization as Chief Executive Officer in early May 2022! Verrett, who resides in Vallejo, CA, has been a member of the BDPA Board of Directors since 2018 and brings over 30 years of experience helping brands reach their full potential and leading teams to growth and success.

Blue Devils Co-founder Ann Odello Passed at 93 Years

Please join us in celebrating the life of Ann Odello, who passed away this week at the age of 93. Ann Odello co-founded the Blue Devils alongside her beloved husband Tony Odello, setting in motion an organization that would not only encompass three generations of Odellos, but impact thousands of lives across the world for over eight decades.

Shaun Gallant to Depart BD Performing Arts

Shaun Gallant, who has been with the organization since 2018, will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer to explore other opportunities outside of the organization and activity.

Remembering Ron Menke

Please join us in celebrating the life of Ron Menke, who passed away on January 13 at the age of 70 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Ron joined the Blue Devil’s drum staff in 1972 and would stay on thru the 1979 season. Over those 8 years the corps grew from a 70-member local-based youth group to a 3-time Drum Corps International World Champion with back-to-back high percussion trophies.
