BDPA Code of Conduct
BD Performing Arts is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for every
constituent who participates in our organization. BDPA takes harassment and misconduct
very seriously and has been actively working for many years to put the very best practices
in place to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our organization. We serve many
young people of various ages and backgrounds, and we strive to be very clear about what is,
and is not, acceptable behavior.
BDPA has adopted this Code of Conduct document aimed at eliminating opportunities for
abuse, bullying, harassment, and discrimination within the Organization’s numerous
programs. Our Code of Conduct Policy compiles the regulations, policies, and procedures
that apply to all participants, board, staff, volunteers, and contractors of any program or
activity. Programs include but are not limited to an event, rehearsal, or camp operating
under the umbrella of BD Performing Arts (“BDPA”). The information and policies
contained in our Code of Conduct Policy center around ensuring a standard of excellence,
innovation, enrichment, inclusion, and safety that are essential to the experience in any
BDPA program or activity.
We consistently review our policies to make sure they are relevant and up to date. BDPA is
committed to having documents that represent our high standards for the safety and
protection of all of our constituents. This document is a comprehensive and current set of
guidelines and standards, and is subject to change at any time and without notice.
Since the formalization of our Code of Conduct Policy in 2011, all members of our
organization, including Board members, staff, and volunteers, are required to read and
agree to these policies and expectations. All parties must sign these policies before they
interact with our organization in any significant way. It has been our policy for many years
to perform background checks on ALL individuals affiliated with BDPA.

Participants and staff must watch and pass each year video training on BDPA’s Code of
Conduct topics, and Drum Corps International's "Creating a Safe & Supportive Corps.” Each
year BDPA has in-person training on organization policies and Code of Conduct topics with
each program's staff and participants.
