Jaleel was first introduced to the percussive arts when he attended Vallejo middle school in the 6th grade. After experiencing his first Drum Corps show at family day (2009) he went on to march all four years of high school drumline and toured with Blue Devils B following the conclusion of his senior year. They won their 6th consecutive Drum title, 4th open class championship and broke a record by coming in 15th place at world class semifinals, a placement ahead of eight World Class corps. Jaleel began instructing in 2013, working with solano middle school as a battery instructor/drill writer and Oakbrook elementary as a music introduction teacher. He is the former Director and founder of the Alchemia percussion ensemble at Alchemia, a non profit art facility for adults with disabilities. The group made their first appearance at a NCPA regional in 2016 where they took first in the PIRA Divison. Jaleel is also a performer for the Blue Devils Entertainment Groups Aftershock drumline (Golden State Warriors drumline) and Niner Noise (San Francisco 49ners drumline). Jaleel currently resides in Vallejo California and teaches at his alma mater Rodriguez High school as the percussion caption head and drill writer.
