Deborah Seeley is a practicing doctor of physical therapy in Los Angeles, California and member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Orthopedic Performing Arts Special Interest Group. Since completing her doctorate from Mount Saint Mary's College in 2009, she has primarily focused her efforts in the outpatient orthopedic setting, but has also applied her dance and color guard background to independent work for various performing arts companies. Dr. Seeley starting dancing at a young age, minored in dance at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and performed with the Blue Devils and San Jose Raiders. For more than 20 years she has taught dance and color guard throughout California, as well as adjudicating for the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association and working as dance faculty at Pasadena City College. She is also the Director of Pageantry for the Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band.
With a passion for both the performing arts and physical therapy, she is excited to continue her work with the Blue Devils. Her previous roles within the organization include A Corps and B Corps performer, B Corps caption head, Open Guard instructor, souvenir booth employee, BD Entertainment performer, and Blue View Host. Now, as Director of Health & Wellness, Dr. Seeley's focus is to promote health and safety by bridging the gap between sports/dance medicine and the pageantry arts.
