Born and raised in San Jose California. Attended Abraham Lincoln HS. Played trombone throughout HS and at De Anza college for a few years. Started my drum corps career in 1983 playing in the conga line of the San Jose Raiders. 1984 marched with the California Don's, baritone. 1985 through 1990 marched in the Blue Devils. Euphonium in 85, baritone 86-89, and aged out in 90 as Drum Major. So fortunate to have been taught from HS through drum corps by hall of fame legends. Too many to list.
In 1992, I married my best friend and BD alum Therese Freitas (82,84,85), and we moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1992.
I am currently a Critical Care Paramedic, Fire Fighter, and Captain with Western Lane Fire and EMS in Florence Oregon. I also am the Clinical Coordinator for the EMS Program at Lane Community College in Eugene. I have been teaching Paramedic practical skills since 2001. I am a certified instructor in: Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Life Support.
In 2015, I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of the new Health and Wellness team, and was asked to come a teach CPR/AED and First Aid to the BD staff. Many of whom taught or marched with me. It has been a huge honor to serve on this team and give a little back to the Blue Devil organization and family I have loved for the last 30 years.
Therese and I have two daughters, Genevieve and Gyllian...both are very much into the arts like their parents. Genevieve is passionate about stop motion 3D sculpture and special effects makeup, and Gyllian is into voice acting, makeup, and theater.
