Nicholas Garcia is currently band director at Fallon Middle School and is a freelance trombone player that is active in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Mr. Garcia has performed and taught in a variety of musical programs both in northern and southern California. He was previously band director at Central Middle School in San Carlos, CA. Mr. Garcia has also held positions as a visual and music instructor for the marching band programs of Foothill High School (Pleasanton, CA), California High School (San Ramon, CA), Westlake High School (Westlake Village, CA), Newbury Park High School (Newbury Park, CA), South Pasadena High School (South Pasadena, CA), Amador Valley High School (Pleasanton, CA) and James Logan High School (Union City, CA). He has also served as a visual instructor for Élan Percussion (Covina, CA). Currently, serves as brass caption head for Dublin High School (Dublin, CA), Homestead High School (Cupertino, CA) and the Blue Devils ‘B’ drum & bugle corps (Concord, CA), and is also on staff at The Blue Devils ‘A’ drum & bugle corps. He also teaches brass privately.
Mr. Garcia has a strong background in the drum and bugle corps activity. For six years, he was a member of the Blue Devils Performing Arts organization as a tubist in the ‘B’ and ‘A’ corps. During his time with The Blue Devils, he earned two Drum Corps International Open Class Championships with the Blue Devils ‘B’ Corps and three Drum Corps International World Class Championships with The Blue Devils ‘A’ Corps. Mr. Garcia, himself, also earned the ‘Sweet Feet’ award for best visually performing member of the corps and the Directors’ Award as a member of the ‘A’ corps in 2015.
Mr. Garcia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, as well as a minor in Music Industry from the University of California, Los Angeles, Herb Alpert School of Music. He is also an alumni member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity.
