Cameron works as one of the the Music Directors at Adolfo Camarillo High School in Camarillo, California where he teaches the marching band, concert bands, jazz bands, and orchestra. Cameron is proud to work alongside Co-Director Phil Idell (BD FE 11-12) on a daily basis. Previously, he was the Director of Bands and Orchestras at Granada Hills Charter High School in the nearby San Fernando Valley.
A Fresno, CA native and Clovis West High School graduate, Cameron received his B.M. in Music Education in 2013 from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA where he studied under John Harbaugh, Mark Lane, Larry Gookin, Chris Bruya, and Nikolas Caoile. At CWU, Cameron was proud to perform with upwards of 12 ensembles, and he twice was accepted to and competed in the National Trumpet Competition with the CWU Trumpet Choir. Cameron taught the CWU Wildcat Marching Band from 2012-2013 and completed his student teaching with Alec Wilmart at Kellogg Middle School in Shoreline, WA.
From 2010-2013, Cameron performed in the trumpet section with the Blue Devils, winning two DCI World Championships and two silver medals. In 2013, he performed as a trumpet soloist for the re:Rite of Spring and received the “MVP Visual” award. Later, he went on to perform as a "marching staff member" for the Blue Devils International tour of Europe in 2015.
Cameron’s professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the California Band Directors Association (CBDA), California Alliance for Jazz (CAJ) and the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA).
