Mike Nevin is a nationally recognized percussion writer, arranger, adjudicator and clinician. He has written for and taught many award winning percussion ensembles and drumlines around the country including two-time Winter Guard International Concert Class Champion, Gateway High School, and the two-time WGI Independent World Class Champion, Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble. He is currently the Director of Percussion Studies at Colorado
State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and the front ensemble
writer/arranger and instructor for the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble. Mike is serving his second term as the President of the Board of Directors for the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association and has been a member of the WGI Percussion Advisory Board since 1995. Mike lives in Aurora, Colorado where he freelances as a percussionist in the Denver area and plays tenor and guitar pan regularly with the Pan Jumbies Steel Band.
Mike received his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Montana State University where he studied under James B. Campbell and Daniel P. Moore, and his Masters degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Northern Colorado while studying with Gray Barrier.
