Paul is based in London, England and works with groups across Europe and the USA, writing, teaching, and performing many different styles of music, from Drum and Bugle Corps, Marching Bands, and Brass Bands to Contemporary Jazz Orchestras.
Paul was inducted into the Buglers Hall of Fame in 2020.
He has held positions as Brass Caption Head Blue Eagles 1985, Brass Caption Head and arranger The Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps 1989 to 1993, Brass Caption Head and Arranger The Sunrisers 1995 to 1998, Brass Caption Head and Arranger/Composer Encore Drum and Bugle Corps 2000 to 2003, Musical Director Kidsgrove Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps 2018 to present, Brass and Front Ensemble arranger Jong Holland Showband 2019. Also many other writing/arranging credits for other organisations worldwide.
Paul has also worked with a wide variety of bands playing Trumpet and Flugelhorn from a very young age. At 22 Years old he was a finalist in the Yorkshire Television 'Young Jazz Player of the Year' competition, this helped to develop his playing career by opening up many new opportunities.
He has performed with artists such as John Dankworth, Kenny Baker, Bob Wilber, Kenny Wheeler, Jools Holland, along with many other groups and has directed, composed and arranged for many bands, including the Don Ellis Connection Orchestra, which he co-directed for 2 years, Obispo, the Afro-Cuban Salsa Project, En Fuego, The Anchormen Ensemble, Anchormen Jazz Orchestra, Brass Impact, Dave Keech’s Close to the Bone, and Quintessence.
